Aharonovitch supports forces who evacuated Gilad Farm

Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch on Wednesday offered his full support to security forces who shot plastic rounds at settlers during the demolition at the Gilad Farm on Tuesday.
"During the operation, the security forces encountered violent resistance which included curses, threats and rock-throwing," Aharonovitch said.
According to Aharonovitch, the forces were under "a serious threat" which resulted in the use of non-lethal weapons.
He said that large groups were formed around police officers which presented a serious threat to the forces. The plastic rounds were used "in light of the massive resistance" and "rampaging" by the settlers.
Aharonovitch was responding to a question by Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin (Likud) who wanted to know why plastic rounds were used against the settlers during Knesset plenum.
