Algeria: Suicide bomber kills 1, injures 8

ALGIERS — Police said a suicide bomber drove into an Algerian gendarme station, killing himself and a security guard and injuring eight gendarmes on Sunday
Authorities said the attack hit at dawn in the town of Oued Aissi, near the town of Tizi-Ouzou in the restive Kabylie region.
The town hall and a wing housing anti-terrorism offices were also damaged.
Armed hardline Islamic groups in Algeria have aligned with al-Qaida to stage scattered bombings and other attacks, usually targeting security forces.
