Labor MK Amir Peretz said Saturday he supported the release of jailedFatah leader Marwan Barghouti if it meant that IDF soldier GiladSchalit would be freed from Hamas captivity.
Speaking at a Beersheba event, Peretz said: “Hamas would see it as avictory, and that will anger us. But I am willing to take two days ofcelebrations in Gaza in exchange for [Schalit]. If we had done it twoyears ago, it would already be behind us.”
