Labor Party leadership candidate Amir Peretz successfully talked down a woman threatening to jump off a building in Holon Sunday. The woman climbed on top of a building at the Jesse Cohen housing development in Holon, where a protest was taking place, and threatened to jump. Peretz went up to the roof and managed to talk her down, ending the hour-and-a-half ordeal and averting tragedy.
Officials close to Peretz claimed that after the Labor MK succeeded in talking the woman down, bystanders began shouting: "Down with Bibi (Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu), Peretz [is] king of Israel," although that report could not be independently confirmed.
