Annual Mavoi Satum film festival kicks off

In an effort to raise awareness regarding mesuravot get, women who are denied a religious divorce by their husbands and prohibited from remarrying, Mavoi Satum, a non-profit organization established for helping such women began its annual film festival on Tuesday

The event was organized in cooperation with the Jerusalem Cinemateque to mark International Women’s Day and Yom HaAguna.

The two nights of the festival will be dedicated to different themes, with a total of eight films and documentaries being screened.

All of the films are being screened at the Cinemateque and have English subtitles. Additionally, all proceeds from the festival will go to agunot and mesuravot get.
