Two cases of new COVID-19 subvariant discovered in Israel

Two new cases of the COVID-19 BA.5 Omicron subvariant were detected in Israel on Tuesday, the Health Ministry said.

The cases were discovered during routine PCR testing done on Israelis in Ben-Gurion Airport who recently returned from abroad. On Monday, a confirmed case of the BA.4 coronavirus subvariant was also discovered in the airport.
