The suspended death sentence of Fida Kewan, an Israeli-Arab woman detained in the United Arab Emirates, was changed to a life sentence on Thursday.
Kewan was originally sentenced to death for drug trafficking after being accused of possessing half a kilogram of cocaine. Following an appeal by the Israeli's lawyers, her sentencing was temporarily suspended by the Emirati Court of Appeals.
