Israeli security forces arrested two suspects, residents of Jaffa and the Jerusalem area, in Ramle driving on Route 431 on suspicion of connection to a blast that occurred early on Friday morning in Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park.

The central Israel road was subsequently blocked in both directions following the arrest.

According to Israeli media citing eyewitnesses, the suspect was taken out of the vehicle and handcuffed as a bomb squad was called to the scene. The suspects are Israeli citizens, according to reports.

After an investigation from Israel's National Counterterrorism Unit, it was found that the vehicle contained no explosives.

However, one of the suspects tied himself to the blast during the Shin Bet and Border Police investigation, law authorities said. More information from the investigation has been placed under a gag order.

This is a developing story.
