UK gov't commits £7m to combat antisemitism

Jeremy Hunt, Chancellor of the Exchequer has committed to providing up to £7 million (close to $9 million) over the course of the next three years to support charities working to combat antisemitism in the UK. This announcement was made during the government's Autumn Statement. Hunt expressed his deep concern regarding the increase in antisemitic incidents in the UK, particularly in the wake of the Hamas attack on Israel last month.

The funding is intended to assist organizations such as the Holocaust Educational Trust in addressing antisemitism in educational institutions, and it will also include a repeat of the £3 million allocation to the Community Security Trust (CST) to enhance security measures for the Jewish community in the UK.
