US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was meeting with Defense Minister Ehud Barak Sunday afternoon and was expected to meet later with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Rice is in the region for a round of meetings with Israeli, Palestinian, Egyptian, and Jordanian leaders ahead of a US-sponsored Middle East parley, scheduled for November.
Shortly before landing in Israel, Rice told reporters that she was "not expecting a breakthrough" during her current visit.
