Marking a change from calling for direct talks
between Israel and the Palestinians, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton Thursday called for dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, Reuters reported.
Ashton offered to aid the process and said, "The EU is...ready to facilitate a process of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade," according to Reuters. "This dialogue would be to promote cooperation, achieve progress on the path to Europe and improve the lives of the people."
The Hague recently issued a non-binding affirmation of Kosovo's independence from Serbia, which was declared two years ago. Serbia rejected the ruling.
