Assad: Lieberman proves Israel not interested in peace

The Israeli government is at fault for impeding the Middle East process, Syrian President Bashar Assad said Monday during a meeting with Czech Foreign Relations Committee chairman Jiri Dienstbier.
The Syrian president said statements made by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman proved it was not interested in peace, but in complicating the situation in the region.
According to SANA, the Czech dignitary stated his country would work toward returning the Golan Heights to Syrian sovereignty. He also reportedly condemned Israel's announcement of new construction in the ultra-Orthodox east Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo.
