Syrian President Bashar Assad met with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman on Tuesday to discuss recent developments in Lebanon and in the region, and the "distinguished bilateral relations" between their countries, reported official Syrian news agency SANA.During the meeting, the two leaders discussed how to maintain calm in Lebanon, strengthen the country's national unity, and preserve its security and stability. The two leaders met last July in Beirut to talk about Lebanon's national unity and mitigating the country's external risks.
