Austrian court clears way for Sanader extradition

VIENNA - An Austrian court ruled on Monday that Croatian former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader can be extradited to his home country to face corruption charges.
"The presiding judge ruled in today's proceedings that his extradition to Croatia is permissible," Hans Rathgeb, president of the Salzburg regional court, told Reuters by telephone, adding that Sanader remained in custody after his defence team lodged an appeal against the ruling.
