Ben-Eliezer praises extension of Fischer's term as BoI head

Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer (Labor) praised the extension of Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer on Wednesday, saying that the move would enable Israel to “return to the track of growth and prosperity” as the global financial crisis ends.
“The State of Israel has been blessed with a governor … who is one of the most brilliant and leading financial professionals in the world, a kind man with a warm Zionist heart,” Ben-Eliezer said. He went on to praise Fischer’s efforts to “spearhead the monetary economy in Israel in a time of one of the most severe financial crises in the world.”
