Bill including women in dayanim appointments passes c'tee

A bill which proposes to reserve two places for women on the committee which appoints rabbinical judges, or dayanim, was accepted by the ministerial committee for legislation on Sunday and will now pass to the Knesset for its first reading.
Women’s rights groups welcomed the step but said that even if the measure is signed into law it is no guarantee that it will change the face of the rabbinical courts, which have jurisdiction over divorce proceedings.
