Bissau military closes air, sea space with warning

BISSAU - Guinea-Bissau's military chiefs have closed the West African country's air and sea space and say all violations will be met with a "military response," the armed forces leadership said in a statement Monday.
The measure, announced following last week's coup by the Guinea-Bissau military, was a response to a call by the Portuguese-speaking Community of Countries for a UN-mandated intervention force. It also followed reports that a Portuguese warship was on its way to Guinea-Bissau to possibly evacuate Portuguese and foreign nationals
