Suicide bomber near airport in Afghan capital, casualties feared

KABUL - A suicide bomber blew himself up on a road near Kabul airport, with some people killed among multiple casualties, officials in the Afghan capital said on Monday, barely two weeks after a major Taliban assault in the city.
A police officer at the scene said a suicide bomber walked up to a pickup truck and detonated explosives he was wearing and that an unspecified number of people had been killed and wounded.
Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said investigators were at the scene.
