Brother of 2015 Jerusalem pride march murderer detained ahead of Thursday’s parade

Police arrested on Wednesday morning the brother of Yishai Schlissel, the man who murdered Shira Bank at last year’s Jerusalem Pride Parade, on suspicion of “seeking to interfere” with this year’s event on Thursday.
The police said several people had been arrested including at least one other member of Schlissel’s family.
They are being represented by Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir, a prominent far-right figure who is also associated with the radical anti-LGBT and anti-assimilation Lehava organization.
Schlissel went on a stabbing rampage at the 2015 Jerusalem Pride Parade, killing 16-year old Banki, and injuring six other people marching at the event.
He had only just been released from prison after serving a ten year sentence for stabbing three people at the 2005 Jerusalem Pride Parade.
Schlissel’s brother is scheduled for a hearing in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court Wednesday afternoon after the police requested his detention be extended.
