Cabinet unanimously approves Dichter as home front minister

The cabinet unanimously approved the appointment of Avi Dichter to be the next home front defense minister on Wednesday. The appointment will now go before the Knesset for final approval on Thursday.
Dichter resigned his place as a Kadima MK on Tuesday in order to take the new ministerial post. He is replacing Matan Vilnai as home front defense minister, who is becoming Israel's  envoy to China.
