Cattle embryos arrive in Israel

40 frozen embryos of Red Angus cattle arrived in Israel on Tuesday as part of a venture looking to implant them in local cows.
The project, funded by the Cleveland-based Negev Association, aims to improve the beef industry in Ramat Hanegev.
Israel lacks a sufficient number of cows for the production of beef and instead imports much of its meat from abroad. The durable Red Angus cattle are well-suited to adapting to desert conditions, said Sarah Horowitz, program director at the Negev Association.
