Copayments for 'health basket' drugs to cost 10% less for people over 72

The four health funds will give a 10 percent discount to people over the age of 72 - instead of the current 75 minimum - on copayments for all prescription medications that are included in the basket of health services. This was arranged at the initiative of Health Minister MK Ya’acov Litzman to ease drug copayments for the elderly.
The agreement was signed for five years until the end of 2020.
Litzman said: “We are acting to expand the discount arrangements on prescription drugs for the weaker sectors, especially the eldery, who need such a benefit. The ministry has a social policy and aims to help hundreds of thousands of the aging.
