Court orders Jerusalem’s Cinema City to dismantle, rebuild roof

Cinema City, the capital’s largest multiplex, was ordered by a District Appeals Committee on Monday to dismantle and rebuild its roof, which the committee contended is faulty and reduces commercial space for other enterprises in the downtown vicinity where it is located.
Cinema City’s management has unsuccessfully appealed the committee’s decision two times over the past nine months.
The popular 15-screen, NIS 125 million complex, located above the National Government Center parking lot, opened in February of 2014. It remains unclear when the roof will be dismantled, and if it will result in the cinema’s temporary closure.
