Demolitions ordered for 16 illegal structures in east Jerusalem's Silwan

City officials issued demolition orders for 16 illegally built structures and homes in the Wadi Al-Hilwa section of east Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood over the weekend. According to a spokesman of a Silwan-based committee formed to fight demolitions, inspectors from the Jerusalem Municipality delivered the demolition notices to the owners with police protection.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center, also based in Silwan, said one of the structures was built with bricks and tin sheets.
