Education minister questions inclusion of play by Palestinian terrorist in national culture basket

Education Minister Naftali Bennett demanded an urgent meeting on Sunday of the Culture Basket's Theater Repertoire Committee to discuss the ongoing run of the controversial play "A Parallel Time."
The autobiographical play was written by Walid Daka, a Palestinian terrorist and political prisoner, serving a sentence for his part in the kidnapping, torture, and murder of IDF soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984.
"It was not made clear to the professional staff that this is the story of a terrorist, murderer, who is serving a prison sentence for his part in the torture and murder of Moshe Tamam, of blessed memory," stated Bennett. "I believe in the professionalism of the committee and in freedom of expression, but there are some things that cannot be accepted.
The play included in the national culture basket since April 2014, has been viewed by over 900 11th and 12th graders.
