Egypt's PM: New constitution to be ready next month

Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil on Saturday announced that a draft of the country's new constitution will be completed by the end of September, according to a report by Al Ahram, citing Egypt's state-run MENA news agency.
Earlier this month, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy overturned the Constitutional Declaration issued in 2011 by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which had curbed the president’s influence over the drafting of the new constitution.
Morsy’s replacement declaration, however, grants him exclusive authority to make significant changes to the Constituent Assembly, the body tasked with drafting Egypt’s new constitution.
The move was thus seen as a significant power grab, bestowing upon Morsy virtually complete executive and legislative powers.
