FADC reviews Operation Brother's Keeper

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Subcommittee on Judea and Samaria discussed Operation Brother's Keeper Wednesday, in an attempt to point to lessons the defense establishment can learn from the operation, which was completed last week with the killing of the terrorists who kidnapped and murdered teens Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Fraenkel and Eyal Yifrach.
The committee discussed, in a closed-door meeting, gaps in intelligence, police emergency line responsiveness to Shaer's call, cooperation between the IDF, settlement security and the Palestinian Authority and other issues.
"The boys' murder was a catalyst for the war with Hamas, which drew our attention to Hamas's attack tunnels from Gaza and the need to destroy them," subcommittee chairman Motti Yogev (Bayit Yehudi) said. "Because of these boys, of blessed memory, many lives were saved."
