Female Palestinian assailant shot dead at Damascus Gate identified

The knife-wielding female terrorist who was shot dead at the entrance to the Old City’s Damascus Gate Sunday night after lunging at Border Police has been identified by the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry as 16-year-old West Bank resident Fatima Hjeiji.
According to police, Hjeiji, who lived in Qarawat Bani Zeid, a village near Ramallah, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” (“God is great”) while lunging at an officer, and left a note with the words “Shahida” (Arabic for “martyr”) written on it.
