A flight from Cairo International Airport embarked Saturday for Tehran on the first direct air passage between the two cities since Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution,

The flight is part of a joint initiative agreed on by the Egyptian and Iranian ministers of tourism in an effort to raise the influx of Iranian tourism in Egypt.
