First in 30 years: Female rhino born in Uganda

Uganda's dwindled rhinoceros population was given a serious boost Saturday when a rhinoceros in the country's only rhino sanctuary gave birth to the first female calf born in three decades, AFP reported.
The calf, born Saturday evening, weighed at least 50 kilograms.
Rhinos were almost wiped out completely in Uganda in the 1980s, leaving the population today at just 13. The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary aims to reintroduce the behemoth species back into the wild.
