FM calls for Palestinian elections in move to oust Abbas

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Tuesday urged the Quartet to call for Palestinian elections, in a bid to oust Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, AFP reported Wednesday.
In a letter to the Quartet, obtained by AFP, Liberman accused Abbas of impeding the peace process, saying he was "apparently uninterested or unable... to reach an agreement which would bring an end to the conflict."
"The time has come to consider a creative solution, to think @@@outside the box,@@@ in order to strengthen the Palestinian leadership," AFP quoted Lieberman as saying in the letter. "General elections in the PA should be held, and a new, legitimate, hopefully realistic Palestinian leadership should be elected."
