Former Rabin director-general cleared of charges

The director-general of the Prime Minister's Office under the late Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Sheves, was cleared of charges in a criminal investigation in Romania Wednesday.
Sheves, who is now a businessman, was told that he would not be indicted and the case against him would be closed. He was not even questioned by Romanian authorities.
However Romania's State Attorney has applied for an arrest warrant for Israeli businessmen Benny Steinmetz and Tal Zilberstein, who could face charges of money laundering, fraud and bribery.
They have been accused of setting up an organized crime network. Zilberstein was an adviser to former prime minister Ehud Barak.
