Former senior Netanyahu staffer questioned for fraud, breach of trust

A former senior employee of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office was questioned under caution by police relating to matters of fraud and breach of trust, it was announced Monday.
The ex-official was questioned for hours on the suspicion that during his time in the Prime Minister's Office, he acted in a manner that the amounted to a conflict of interest with respect to a company he owned, and committed other offenses such as fraud and breach of trust.
At the end of his interrogation, the unnamed figure was released under restrictive conditions, including house arrest and a five-day financial guarantee. The man, who was said to be a central figure in the Likud faction, left the Prime Minister's Office earlier in 2015 in favor of a role in Netanyahu's election headquarters.
