Former US ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro to join Tel Aviv think tank

Former US ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro has found a new gig: senior visiting fellow at the Tel Aviv-based Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).
Shapiro, who was appointed by former US president Barack Obama and served as ambassador from 2011 to January 20, 2017, will be involved in the institute's research on Israel-US relations, Israel's relations with the Jewish communities in the US, and Israel’s ties with the Palestinians and the Arab world.
According to a statement put out by INSS, in the course of his research, Shapiro will provide recommendations for a policy that will strengthen the strategic, economic and societal connection between Israel and the US, and ways to preserve and strengthen the joint interests between the two countries.
