Germany announces all nuclear plants to close by 2022

Germany announced on Monday this it will shut down all its nuclear plants by 2022, and the eight reactors that shut down following the nuclear disaster at Fukushima in Japan won't be reactivated, AFP reported.
The decision came following a meeting of leaders of Chancellor Angela Merkel's ruling coalition that lasted from Sunday night into Monday's early morning hours.
Germany will become the first major industrial power to relinquish atomic power, AFP reported.
