Government announces plan to lure Israelis to agriculture jobs

The Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday announced a NIS 9 million incentive plan designed to spur Israelis to work in the agricultural sector.
The plan, which came about as a result of the severe shortage in foreign labor that has hit the agricultural industry hard, is expected to lure some 200 Israelis into the field by the end of this calendar year.
The current number of migrant laborers falls short of increasing demand. In turn, this motivated the ministry to embark on the plan.
