Hospital sanctions to be somewhat reduced in next 24 hours

After yet another day of general strikes in the public hospitals on Monday, doctors’ sanctions will be somewhat reduced on Tuesday: Only oncological and other urgent surgery will be performed but other departments will function as usual.
On Wednesday, a full strike will be held in the Dan-Petah Tikva and Haifa community health fund clinics of Clalit Health Services.
On Thursday, hospital operating rooms will again perform only oncological and other urgent surgery, with all other hospital departments functioning normally.
No significant progress has been made in talks between Treasury wage division officials and the Israel Medical Association, which began its sanctions over pay, working conditions, needs of the periphery and other issues some two months ago.
