IAEA says chief ElBaradei to visit Iran soon

IAEA says chief ElBarade

The International Atomic Energy Agency says its director will visit Iran to discuss issues related to the country's nuclear program. An IAEA statement says Mohammad ElBaradei was "invited to Tehran by Iranian authorities. He will travel there soon to discuss a number of matters." The agency issued the statement Thursday shortly after six world powers including the United States met with the Islamic republic near Geneva to discuss its uranium enrichment program. ElBaradei recently said Teheran was "on the wrong side of the law" regarding a second enrichment site near Qom. He said Iran should have revealed its plans as soon as the decision was made to build the plant. EU envoy Javier Solana said Iran agreed Thursday to open the site to IAEA inspectors.
