IDF soldier on northbound train fires gun into air after seeing 'suspicious figure'

The anxiety generated by nonstop media coverage of the wave of Palestinian violence appears to be taking its toll.

Passengers on a northbound train that was traveling from Haifa on Thursday hit the emergency brakes in between stations after noticing what appeared to be a suspicious person with a knife.

One of the passengers, a soldier, fired his gun into the air. There were no injuries, and no suspects were arrested.

Authorities are now questioning the soldier ascertain what led him to fire his weapon.
