Insurgents attack bus in southern Thailand; 1 killed, 13 wounded

Two suspected Muslim insurgents on Saturday hurled an explosive at a bus in southern Thailand, killing one passenger and wounding 13 others in escalating violence following a prayer-time massacre at a mosque last week. Police Lt. Col. Wattanachai Chantimangkul said the bus was leaving downtown Yala city Saturday when two men riding a motorcycle threw the explosive at the bus, killing one woman and wounding all but one of the other passengers. The south has been plagued by daily violent incidents since the June 8 killing of 10 people in a mosque in neighboring Narathiwat province.
