International team to construct northern rail

An Israeli-German group has taken over a French-Spanish-Israeli consortium responsible for laying approximately 100 kilometers of railroad, Netivei Israel: National Transport Infrastructure Company Ltd. announced on Sunday. The new team will consist of Israeli firm Lesicopp and German company DB BahnBau, replacing the French TSO, Spainish INDRA and another Israeli firm, in a NIS 800 million transaction, according to Netivei Israel. 
The new group will be tasked will building three new railways with a total length of about 100 km, with two tracks connecting Karmiel with the Haifa coast and another connecting the towns of Beit She'an and Afula, the company said.
