Islamists, police clash during protests in Egypt

Clashes broke out in Cairo andseveral other Egyptian cities on Friday during protest marchesstaged by supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsi of theMuslim Brotherhood, security sources and state media said.

In the capital, backers of Morsi, who was ousted by themilitary in July, clashed with police on the road that leads tothe pyramids in the suburb of Giza. Fighting also took placebetween supporters and opponents of Morsi in Alexandria and twocities in the Nile Delta.
