Jerusalem Municipality approves community pool in East Talpiot

The Jerusalem Municipality approved the budget for a NIS 33 million semi-Olympic swimming pool in East Talpiot’s Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, City Hall announced on Tuesday.
The pool is part of the city’s ongoing initiative to increase investments in leisure and cultural institutions throughout the capital, the municipality said in a statement. According to the statement, the 25-meter-long pool, to be build near Seligsberg High School, is being funded by City Hall, the Jerusalem Foundation and the National Lottery.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat praised the approval as another step in improving the capital’s services for residents.
“Construction of the pool in East Talpiot is another example of the widespread activities created to improve the quality of life for residents of the capital,” he said.
The pool is scheduled to be completed next year, the municipality said.
