Jerusalem Municipality to enforce smoking ban at Teddy Stadium

Following multiple reports from city inspectors of illicit smoking at events in the capital’s Teddy Stadium, the Jerusalem Municipality announced Tuesday that it will strictly enforce its no-smoking ban there.
According the municipality, numerous spectators have eschewed designated smoking areas to light up in banned portions of the stadium, sending plumes of secondhand smoke to non-smoking attendees.
To enforce the ban, the municipality said it is initiating a patrol which will ticket and fine any spectators who defy the law. “The municipality will continue to enforce the law against smoking in public places for the benefit of residents,” City Hall said in a statement.
