The Jerusalem Municipality, in coordination with theJewish National Fund, will distribute free Christmas trees to Christianresidents of the city on Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and noon at College DesFreres - De La Salle High School, located at 20 BabEl-Jadid Road. According to the municipality, the trees will be given on a firstcome, first served basis.
There will alsobe a limited amount of Christmas trees reserved for journalists with GPO cardswho are non-Jerusalem residents. The Jerusalem Development Authority, incoordination with local residents and shop keepers, will also decorate thestreets and hang festive lighting in the Christian Quarter of the Old City.“As the home of the three Abrahamic traditions,Jerusalem is dear to over 3.5 billion people of varying faiths around the world,”Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said in a statement. “Our city is proud to be anopen city, with freedom of religion for all residents.”
