Key Labor Party official quits post

The head of the Labor Party's appellate court, retired judge Menahem Hahmon, resigned from his post on Tuesday, citing problematic behavior on the part of party chairman Ehud Barak. Hahmon blasted Barak for not convening the party's institutions and for repeatedly breaking its bylaws. He said that Labor had abandoned its values and ideology. The departure of the judge, along with secretary-general Eitan Cabel's firing in April, has left Barak as Labor's undisputed authority.
