Knesset to extend summer session by a week

The Knesset will continue it activities until August 2, extending its planned summer session by a week, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and his deputies decided Monday.
"This will be a shorter recess than in most years, but this is a requirement of reality, because the Knesset only recently began to work fully," Edelstein explained.
While the Knesset is in recess, the Finance Committee will hold meetings on the 2015-2016 budget and its first reading will be brought to a vote from August 31-September 2. The budget must pass in its final reading by early November.
The summer session will end a week after Tisha B'Av, while in most years it ends before. The Knesset will continue regular activities in October, after Sukkot, as it usually does.
Edelstein's scheduling recommendations will have to go to a vote in the Knesset House Committee.
