Lapid discusses Iran, Palestinians with Biden at White House

WASHINGTON -- Finance Minister Yair Lapid and US Vice President Joseph Biden met at the White House on Thursday during a packed visit to Washington, where their discussion focused primarily on negotiations with Iran and the Palestinians.
Lapid is in town for annual meetings at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, but is also meeting with members of Congress and DC-based think tanks and political groups, such as the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and the US Chamber of Commerce.Biden and Lapid were joined by Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew and White House Middle East Coordinator Phil Gordon.  
"The Vice President and Minister Lapid discussed Israel’s economy as well as regional issues, including recent developments with regard to Iran, Israel’s negotiations with the Palestinians, and the importance of strengthened economic cooperation between Israel and the Palestinian Authority," the White House said in a statement.
