Large blast shakes airport in Afghan capital

KABUL, Dec 11 (Reuters) - A large explosion shook Kabul's international airport on Wednesday, a Reuters witness said, with police saying initial reports suggested it was an insurgent attack.
"Based on our information there was a explosion near KAIA," said deputy Kabul police chief Sayed Ghafar Sayedzada, referring to Kabul International Airport.
The airport is home to one of the NATO-led command's most important bases, the ISAF Joint Command, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan.
