KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A bus carrying Thai tourists overturned on a winding road near a Malaysian highland resort Monday, killing at least 14 people, an official said.
The tourists were returning from a weekend trip to the popular Cameron Highlands holiday destination in central Malaysia when their bus apparently spun out of control and crashed into a road divider Monday morning, said a district fire department official.
Rescuers recovered 14 bodies so far, including that of a Thai driver, the official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make public statements. At least 10 other passengers were wounded, he said.
It was one of Malaysia's worst road accidents in recent years.
